An unusual special edition customer magazine

The brief was to produce a special edition magazine for Sun Microsystem's customers and business contacts that leveraged its sponsorship of three leading sports teams: the McLaren F1 team, Manchester United and round-the-world sailor Pete Goss.

To devise content that was interesting, innovative and enticing. To achieve a blend of editorial on the three sports teams interspersed with key corporate messages on Sun's business and its products.

An incredibly popular special edition magazine on 'Technology and Sport', providing an interesting link between Sun's technologies and the world of sport. In addition to featuring Sun's sponsorship of three leading sports teams, showing how they gain competitive advantage through the use of Sun technology, original editorial focused on the role that technology has played in sport over time, and might do projecting into the future. 'Technology and Sport' was a hot corporate publication "best seller". The magazine was highly acclaimed, with all copies form the original print run being snapped up quickly.
